Out of all the BoAt TWS earbuds under Rs 1500, Airdopes 121v2 is the most popular and selling TWS earbuds of BoAT.
This BoAt Airdopes 121v2 Review article will go deep into this TWS earbud and see if it deserves your hard-earned money or not.
So, let’s dive in.
Quit Look
Design & Build Quality
The design Airdopes 121v2 has is one of my most favourite TWS earbuds designs. This design is usually very lightweight and compact. You can just easily put them into your ears.
These snug-fit angled earbuds are really good at passive noise cancellation and delivering music directly into your ear canals.
Someone like me who uses earphones/earbuds for at least 5-6 hours a day can say without any doubt that the earbuds are really comfortable for longer sessions.
According to BoAt, each earbud weighs only 4 grams. So, you won’t even feel that you are actually wearing them.
I have no complaints about the material and build quality. The material and finishing quality are even better than costlier BoAt TWS earbuds such as Airodpes 441.
To conclude, if you spend hours using earphones/earbuds without break then in terms of comfort Airdopes 121v2 no matter what activity you are doing.
In terms of design and finishing, the earbuds look very compact, minimal, and premium no matter which colour you are choosing.
Bass & Sound Quality
BoAt Airdopes 121v2 has the standard 20-20kHz frequency range. The ideal range for our human ears. The earbuds have 16 ohms impedance.
The sound is loud enough as it has 103dB/mW sensitivity or sound pressure level. Anything from 98dB or higher is considered ideal for earphones.
Everything was good about Airdopes 121v2. The vocals & instruments as a solo sound clear and loud. But the problem is the bass.
First of all, it has 8mm bass drivers that are itself not that great for deep bass. So, as usually BoAt did some bass boost.
The bass boost surely increased the bass up to a point but it sometimes makes the vocals and other instruments quiet which I personally don’t like.
You might try increasing the volume but high volume causes distortion (mostly starts after 70% volume).
You can try using equalizers with different presets and adjusting the 60Hz frequency with others to find the sweet spot in case you feel the bass is causing a problem.
Overall in Rs 1000-1500 range, Airdopes 121v2 is a good deal just don’t expect too much.
Battery Life & Charging Time
Airdopes 121v2 has a total playback time of 14 hours (3.5 hours per earbuds and 10.5 hours in charging case). Based on similar products the battery backup is slightly on the lower side.
For me, it lasts at least 2-3 days without charging. It takes around 2 hours to get fully charged and it uses micro-USB for charging.
Controls & Functions
Airdopes 121v2 multifunctional buttons for activating assistant (press up to 1.5 seconds), changing tracks (double press), play/pause (single tap), and taking/ending calls (single tap).
Note: You can’t control volume.
Charging Case
One thing I have to admit about Airdopes 121v2 is that the design is really good. The charging case looks as good as the earbuds.
The case is lightweight and very good for portability. You can easily put it in your pocket.
Inside there’s a display that shows the battery percentage and the charging port is located at the back.
